Initial Notes:Baldwin Dipper
1 lb ground beef (or large frozen patties like the Bubba brand burgers)
salt & pepper
4 slices Swiss or Provolone cheese
8 slices Rye bread
Horseradish Dipping Sauce
1 cup Sour Cream
2 T. Prepared Horseradish
Form 4 big patties that will cover your bread after the patties are cooked. I have also substituted frozen Bubba Brand Burgers) Season both sides with salt and pepper.
I cook on a grill pan coated with a little butter. Cook to desired doneness turning as needed, then cover with a slice or so of the cheese of your choice.
Remove burgers from pan and set aside.
Spread the bread with mustard place the bread Mustard side to the burger.
Wipe the pan with paper towels to remove the burger grease. Drop more butter into the clean pan. Add the sandwiches and grill until the bread is toasted, turning as needed.
Slice each sandwich into 4 “fingers” and serve with the Horse Radish sauce above.
Since you have already “blown” your diet. Serve with some potato chips.
This is my version of this great sandwich. If you are in Nashville call and we will go for the real thing.
