This is another offspring from Hustle X Chubby Cheeks. It is a very nicely formed flower with standards and falls well proportioned. The color is what I call rich burgundy with the white falls surrounded by the same color. Beards are light blue tipped gold. Recent weather has made it nearly impossible to get a quality photo, and the clear shots seem to show blue highlights which are NOT present in the actual flower.
Not having a wide array of photography skills, and using only a 'point 'n shoot' digital camera I am never able to get that "true" color no matter what iris I'm trying to capture. I've given my best efforts here with #08-12, but I'm still not happy with the results. Until I improve my photography skills, or, until I can afford a better camera (this is my 4th), I will have to settle for my very best efforts such as this one.
Added note: #08-11 (not this flower) is a beautiful color of what I call "milk chocolate burgundy" with "red lavender" beards. However, no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot get the correct colors/shades/hues to show up in my pictures! I guess what I'm really trying to say here is what my eye actually might see in the garden is not what the camera is showing me when transferred to the PC.

I had an opportunity this morning to get another shot of #08-12 in slightly overcast skies. Still not the picture I'm after, but maybe a little better detailed. I want to re-state from my initial comments that the blue highlights showing up on the falls and around the beards are NOT blue. It should be more of a rose-magenta color, and it is a complete mystery why this color shows up in the picture..
