Initial Notes:BLEACHTo purify water: Store these directions with your emergency bottle of Clorox bleach and an eyedropper. Keep an eyedropper taped to your emergency bottle of Clorox bleach, since purifying small amounts of water requires only a few drops. Store in a cool dry place. Let water stand until particles settle. Pour the clear water into an uncontaminated container and add Regular Clorox Bleach per the chart. Mix well. Wait 30 minutes. Water should have a slight bleach odor. If not, repeat dose. Wait 15 minutes. Sniff again. Don't pour water into contaminated containers. Sanitize water jugs before use. Without water and electricity, sanitize dishes with a little Clorox bleach. Clorox is an enviornmentally sound choice. Clorox bleach breaks down to little more than salt and water. Ratio of Clorox bleach to water for purification: 2 drops of Regular Clorox bleach per quart of water 8 drops of Regular Clorox bleach per gallon of water 1/2 tsp Regular Clorox bleach per five gallons of water If water is cloudy, double the recommended dosages of Clorox bleach. **** Use only Regular Clorox bleach,*** Not fresh scent or lemon fresh. To insure that Clorox bleach is at its' full strength, replace your storage bottle every three months. Clorox bleach sanitizing solution: Mix 1 Tbsp regular Clorox bleach with one gallon of water. Always wash and rinse items first. then let each item soak in Clorox bleach sanitizing solution for 2 minutes. Drain and air dry. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To sanitize food surfaces: wash with soap and water. Soak in a solutions of 3 Tbsp of Clorox bleach and 1 gallon of water. Rinse well. Dry with clean cloth. Use on stainless steel ( not aluminum, silver or not stainless steel). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Indoor cleaning solution: 3/4 cup Clorox bleach, 1 gallon water, 1 Tbsp powdered laundry detergent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wading pool solution Water depth: 1' Pool diameter: 4' 6' 8' 10' 15' Clorox bleach 1/8 1/4 1/2 3/4 1 5/8 cup measurements Combine Clorox bleach with 2 gallons of water. Mix into pool water. Empty small pools daily. Sandboxes: sprinkle area with solumtion of 3 Tbsp Clorox bleach per gallon of water. When dry, no active bleach remains. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Outdoor cleaning solution: 3/4 cups regular Clorox bleach 1 gallon water Wear gloves. Avoid spilling on clothes. To remove moss, wet down and keep wet 5 to 15 minutes. Brush and rinse. Use to remove mold and mildew before painting. Apply, keep wet 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and air dry. Don't apply in direct sunlight as it will evaporate prematurely. Rinse thoroughly. Don't apply to aluminum window frames or unpainted gutters.
