Kaelkitty's Journal: JFC0253 Echinocereus reichenbachii (pectinatus var. castaneus)

Initial Notes:

Acquired from SACASS show in November 1977 in a 6cm pot as Echinocereus pectinatus var. castaneus. This very dark spined (chocolate coloured) form is probably referable to Echinocereus reichenbachii. Planted in the group pot of Echinocereus in May 1978. Root rot and a slight mealy bug infestation discovered in November 1981. Placed in cutting tray for re-rooting but did not recover. Died 1982.
