This was held at the Ohio Expo Center (formerly called the Ohio State Fairgrounds). It was HUGE! And so much fun!

The event was held in the Lausche Building - http://www.ohioexpocenter.com/html/br/br1.htm - at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. I don't know the final headcount, but there had to be hundreds there. Here's a shot of just one side of the crowd, taken from the stage.

Another wide shot. As you can see, there were young people there as well as older. Judging from all the SUV's in the parking lot, there were a lot of soccer moms! ;)

My best friend Amy is who I went with. What a great time...Hours to just sit and talk and play with our goodies! She got twelve 12x12" pages done...I only did six 8.5x11" pages done. I've not mastered the "just get the pages done" mentality; I want every page to be just so, and it somtimes takes me an hour just to get one layout done. But I like the results, and that's what counts. :)

There's Amy again, dwarfed by the big tables. Look at how much space we had to spread out! It was heavenly.

Looking down our table from the end...

They had balloons everywhere; it was really colorful and fun in there. They also had a special Photo Op area set up for the participants to use, but we never made it over to see it. They'd made it up like The Wizard of Oz and had props, like ruby slippers and such.

Since it was a Creative Memories crop, they highlighted their latest and greatest tools and supplies, of course. Here's one display.

More of their stuff, and another big balloon.

Here's our group. I only knew a few of the people...Our consultant (Angie) is in the middle, Amy is two people over from her, my friend Shiela is on the right, in the orange vest. I'm up there in the back.
She came up to me and asked me if I remembered her. And how! Shiela used to be a waitress at the Mennonite restaurant in town, Miller's Essenplatz. She was always the NICEST gal, and we just loved her. She married and moved to Michigan and I hadn't seen her for four years. She knew Angie from waitressing with her, and came down from Michigan just to attend the crop. Small world, isn't it?
The neat thing is, I left a note with one of the waitresses at Miller's after dinner one time, right when we found out she'd moved. I asked if they'd forward it on to Shiela when they got the chance; they did, and she told me Saturday that she's kept it all this time.
It makes me happy when someone feels loved. :) There is a power to the written word.

A better shot of Shiela. Doesn't she have the nicest smile? She's just one of those rare, genuinely fresh and sweet people you meet in life.
