This striking white form of Evening Primrose is anything but pallid. The fragrant, saucer-shaped, 4in blooms open in the long dusk of June and gleam in a way that the yellow members of the clan can only envy. Plants seldom reach above 2ft, spread about half that and are quite happy in any site that provides plenty of sun and good drainage. An exceptionally useful border plant almost regardless of the color scheme and an absolute sine qua non for the moon garden, despite the fact that blooms age to a soft pink (as we hope to do ourselves). For good measure, ‘Innocence` is dead hardy to Zone 3, so long as it never stands in water. Part of a genus of more than 200 species from the Western Hemisphere. They all have large, open flowers and are drought tolerant. Pot-grown.
