Native to Australia and South America, the Fire Bush has long been cultivated in England where it has the reputation of giving the most striking display of color of any tree. In form it can be an evergreen to semi-evergreen upright shrub or multi-trunked tree to 30'. Foliage is a dark, shiny green. Flowering in spring to early summer, it will be covered with clusters of bright red-orange flowers, resembling Indian Paintbrush. A moist, non-alkaline soil is required.Back to Copperbaron's Journal homepage.
