Native to North America, produces spikes of blue flowers in late summer. The plant grows well in moist to wet soils and so is useful near water. The plant may be short-lived but will tend to reseed.

Germinated; moved under lights. Will pot up when true leaves develop.

Planted in South corner of the back of the large pond, next to the Dicentra spectabilis tuber I planted a few days ago.

Bloomed! Plant stayed fairly small - about 15" high, but it bloomed this first year.
