The absolute star of a very extensive lettuce trial, Plato is amongst the best Romaine we have ever evaluated. Leaves are very meaty with a fine sweet flavor. It is also exceptionally slow to bolt and doesn't get bitter as the season progresses. The color of the slightly savoyed leaf is a glossy medium green.
