Initial Notes:

I've posted some shots here to demonstrate the differences in photos depending on the lens settings, distance, and add-on close-up lenses used. I had the flash intensity bumped down to -7 to compensate for the black background (the camera wanted to use more flash because of it, washing out the penny in the process). You'll notice in the later shots that the pictures are darker; that's because I left the flash intensity bumped down.

It's a learning process, and maybe this will help someone else.

Mar 31, 2004   MACRO EXAMPLE 6: zoomed to 50.48 mm (all the way in) and both +2 and +4 close-up lenses used together. I was able to get closer yet with the addition of these combined lenses. I estimate I was about 6" from the subject. You can also see that, the more close-up lenses I combine, the shallower the depth of field becomes. Now the whole penny isn't even in focus.
