Pronunciation: SAL-vee-uh pray-TEN-sis

Clump-forming, woody perennial with 6-inch wrinkled, rough basal leaves red, violet to pink or white flowers on 3 ft. stems in spring. Short bloom season. Reseeds freely if not deadheaded.

Sowed in sterile starting medium. Will provide bottom heat and cool temps until germination occurs.

Germinated. Moved under lights; will pot up when true leaves develop.

  May 31, 2001  
Died after germination.
