Initial Notes:

Planted this in pot with sword ferns (Nephrolepis) and some other sort of fern. Done much better than other one though planted in ceramic pot so did dry out a few times this summer (over 100F). Growing moderately fast, but still not that robust. In automatic sprinkler path which helped a lot. Will plant out at new place?

Planted in ground of new home against house near C medullaris, where it should get minimal sun until much taller. Planted with sword ferns, which were in the pot with it... might regret that!

4 new leaves now on this plant and finally looking like a tree fern, though still stunted.

guess I have no photos from the 'worst' look this summer.. but you can see only two decent leaves now, both in just the last few weeks.

hot again, and the fern is frying... but it's protecting the stuff below, so it's worth it, I guess

ouch... 110F not good for plant... but it's doing its job by protecting stuff below... sort of sacrificing itself for the greater good
