Got this as a nice, large 5 gal, and replanted in this 20 gal pot. Done great and grown well since, even though wind blew over a bunch of times. May plant out at the new place near the curb.

Planted this tree in front yard about a month ago... should have staked it up or planted it later in year- rain has loosened soil around it and wind keeps blowing it down... so finally shoved a board agaisnt it to keep it from falling down. Will probably have to keep it that way for a good 4-6 months until roots finally extend beyond the rootball. Tree looks sort of stressed.

Winds seem to have died down for the year. Tree is upright, if not a bit leaning the OTHER way, thanks to the board. Took the board and brick away, and we'll see how it does. Looks happier, too, now that it's warmed up.

Tied up for the winter, though it looks like the tree is starting to arch it's way to pointing straight up and down...Sept 05

compared to last year's photos, this tree sure doesn't seem to have grown all that much.. .but it has. At least a couple feet, and the trunk is at least twice as thick... and supporting itself now... but still, not too impressive.

new growth is so much larger and paler green.... I understand the pale green fades to dark green eventually, but how do the leaves shrink?
