Got this as a dinky seedling I don't remember when... 99? Whenever, it's been through hell, yet has managed to survive. Actually looks pretty good right now. Had a bad case of bugs this summer but treated with neem oil and seemed to recover. In tall one gal pot. Probably stay in pot indefinitely (too marginal here)

When the space became available, right against the house in some shade, and the palm was looking so good this July, I planted it right next to palm condo outside the newer bathroom

ACtually discovering this species is growing for me here... of course it doesnt look great, but it's in probably the most protected spot in the whole yard, so I might even have it in 10 years still. Here opening new leaf June 06

SLOW!!!! Spike has been getting longer for what seems like a year now.

Opened its second leaf of the year... picking up speed! Looking like a palm now.
