Since my Astilbe chinense didn't make it, and the arendsii are down to six, went ahead and purchased some to supplement my own stock. Planted the Erika near the deck, and the Purple Lance in the back corner near the fence and arbor.

The 'Erika' plants are sprouting leaves. Will mulch them as the leaves get a little taller.

The astilbe planted near the fence was not showing any signs of life. The soil was pertty heavy, and they had also been covered with a double layer of mulch when the path was dug in. I pulled them up and put them in a lighter spot near the tree in this area. I'll keep a close eye on them to see if they sprout.
