Violet standards and bluebird-blue falls with dark yellow stripe. Often blooming around 'Mother's Day', these are good, long-lasting cut flowers and are ones that make nice clumps in the late spring garden; rather formal flowers that give wonderful linear form to the border.

These iris grow from bulbs not rhizomes. They are not cold hardy in this climate, and need to be dug and stored like cannas and gladiolas.

Purchased bulbs; placed in refrigerator for stratification. Will plant out next spring.

Planted all the bulbs today, in a 2' x 3' area on the east side of the small pond.

Bulbs are peeking their heads up.
