Initial Notes:

Planted under Magnolia tree where really will probably get minimal direct sunlight. Some day will grow up into the Magnolia tree, but that won't be for many years. THen, Maybe I can trim the branches out of the way. Was in a low 5 gal pot in very dry soil... should be happier now- mulched the soil and has nice rocks around it.... did have to cut a whole bunch of magnolia roots to make the hole, but doubt either tree will care.

Had to move this poor plant out of the parkway due to some self important city pencil pusher who flexed their scrawny muscles (can you tell I'm mad?) by demanding I clear the parkway of the 'evil' palms before they came and ripped them out themselves... palm was harder to move than expected even though it was not planted that long ago. Magnolia roots were already intertwined with palm roots and I may have torn a few delicate roots... rats. This is NOT a species that moves well. But I think it will be OK. Moved to area in front lawn right near living room where it will actually get better protection and better soil (but perhaps a bit too much sun this next summer... fingers crossed the tree fern is large enough to provide a bit of shade by then).

Hmmm, maybe a bit of progress in the last 3 weeks... but certainly not looking like it's gonna die at this time.
