I enjoy having this iris in my collection a lot! But, it requires a lot of care, and extra winter protection. Severe winter freezing temperatures can take a deadly toll on this beauty. I keep it in a very sheltered location on the south side of the house near the foundation wall away from strong winds. Unlike 99% of the irises I grow, this one is on the tender side. On the plus side it's a work of art, with unfailing beauty! The picture says it best. (The correct name according to AIS Checklist information is "Valentine's Day": Not as I have it spelled on the picture:-)
