CHICO MAID: (W. Luihn R. 1985). Sdlg. 79-23. TB 38" (97 cm) M-L. "S. pale blue (M&P 41-A-2) shading slightly deeper (41-AB-8) at base; F. pale blue (41-A-3 to 41-A-5); blue beard tipped bronze in throat; waved and lightly ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. 77-2: (Contempo x Five Star Admiral) X Song of Norway., Keppel 1985. "

This is another report I do not like to make, As much as I wanted this iris to grow, it simply refused to survive. In winter it would get botritis with the rhizomes turning a sickly blackish gray; in summer it was overcome by soft rot. As long as I kept it in a fairly sheltered spot it survived; but finally succumbed. It is unfortunate, because it was a very nice iris.

I just ran across another picture today from 2004. A nice iris, but unfortunately lost.
