I temporarily planted this in a shade/semi-shade garden several years ago with hostas and dicentras with every intent to move it later. It has bloomed and grown so well, I moved half of the root ball and left half in the shade. This seems to enhance the color. It gets some morning and late afternoon sun.

I like this color a lot in daylilies. It appears to me a burgundy/wine shade of color. Pie-crusted petals add to its charm.

An updated 2006 picture after a stormy, rainy morning. A great color in daylilies.
