Initial Notes:

Hybridized by Wild, 1978. This is another wine colored daylily that is difficult to describe. It is further complicated by viewing it in direct sunlight as opposed to shade, since strong sunlight definitely affects the color of the flower. Sun tends to fade it toward the red end of the color spectrum, while shade gives it a more blue/purple appearance. Whatever, it is a very nice plant and flower. Added note: The same can be said of 'Summer Wine', another beautiful daylily in the same color scheme.
