Initial Notes:

Nice in late spring, adding a lot of needed color. This is what I refer to as a 'generic' orange poppy since they are so plentiful everywhere. Foliage goes dormant in late summer, but new growth is often seen emerging in early fall. Seems to spread by rhizomes beneath the soil, and a few soon becomes a multitude.

Shown here is a close up view in light morning shade. This is a difficult color for my camera; it never gets the detail I want.

This is an update to show what the March 15 picture shown above has become. I have this plant near a garden bench where I take breaks during garden work.
