Initial Notes:

Also known as Hens and Chicks, Live-forever. Very cold tolerant. Family: Crassulaceae. 'Chicks' multiply very rapidly; and a few become 'multitudes'. These make nice garden gifts for a lot of visitors. They are extremely cold tolerant and are easily grown in a wide range of soils and locations.

Shown here in late winter; semi-shaded area. Natural mulch consisting of leaf debris, pine needles and grass clippings are allowed to stay. A few acorn caps are welcome.

Finally now that colder weather has set in I can begin updating some of these entries with new pictures. Here is a shot from June 23, 2006. I couldn't miss an opportunity to show an actual bloom stalk with flower buds in development.
