It appears this will be the second MDB to bloom following Alpine Lake yesterday. From watching the bud formation there is a definite yellow color in the unopened bud. No doubt this will be an ongoing project. The following information is taken from the American Iris Society's Check List Data Base: (A. & D. Willott, R. 1980). Sdlg. 79-4. MDB 4.5" (12 cm) E. "S. light yellow (RHS 8A); F. full yellow (12A), narrowly edged light yellow; white beard. Golden Starlet X Canary Caper., Willott 1981."

Considering the above entry, I've pretty much decided this is in fact Gold Canary. I will know for certain tomorrow, since it should bloom on the bud at right in the picture below. And it is also the only solid yellow MDB I ordered for this bed.
