Initial Notes:

I'm just a little disappointed that the falls flare straight out, and don't "fall" downward: But the color is gorgeous! This is a first year iris for me, and overall I'm pleased. The following information is from the AIS Checklist Database: "(Marky Smith, R. 1996). Sdlg. 93-06A. SDB 13" (33 cm) M. "S. silky dark port wine (RHS 187A); style arms old gold, red violet midrib; F. black burgundy, darker than S.; beards tangerine (32A); lightly ruffled; slight sweet fragrance. Asmus 85-72A: (Mad Dash x Little Annie) X Shoop red: (Torchy x Bright Chic)., Aitken's Salmon Creek 1998.

Entries and Updates

  Apr 29, 2006
In addition to my initial comments above, I must add, it seems to be a vigorous grower; it sent up three bloom stalks after only being planted less than 10 months!

Another 'top' view: It is difficult (for me) to get a profile view when the falls flare out and slightly up. An update will follow if I can get a better picture.

Still cannot get a "straight-on" picture, but did get this overhead view of two blooms on one stem.
