Here is another seedling that I am doubtful about. The color is good, but the form, shape and appeal are less than fair. It is a late bloomer, and the growth is somewhat lacking; with only two stems. It most likely will be eliminated in a few weeks. I might as well clarify my thinking in this entry; As a hobbyist I've said on more than one occasion "you can get almost any combination of colors, shapes, sizes and quality with seedlings". However, you must be TOTALLY honest with your thoughts, evaluations and perceptions! Be prepared to accept reality, knowing full well that substandard material must be eliminated ruthlessly! Also seek honest, frank and unbiased opinions from other irisarians. And, remember, this is NOT a popularity contest! Otherwise one cannot focus on the true merits of a cultivar. Height is 13". This picture will go a long way towards explaining my initial comments. Another point: A picture shows the flower at its best; a visual experience in the garden is another story.

A final look.

Update 2007: This one stays! I've seen it in action through some of the worst possible weather conditions. Surprisingly I didn't think it could do it, but it came through every possible condition when many "big name" hybrids wimped out (including Kiss Me Quick- one of its parents)!!! Some random photos follow in the subsequent entries.
Shown here with THREE branches, and THREE buds on ONE stem opened at once. I rarely see this in SDB's.
