I first saw (and wanted) this iris on the front cover of Schreiners' 1999 catalog: But, the staggering $50.00 price was a 'little' over budget! I knew I could add a few newer cultivars for that price, and wait out the price drop in a few years' time. I ordered it at $10.00 in 2005 along with a few others which had decreased in cost by a sizeable amount. It bloomed less than 10 months after planting in July 2005; this is always a hint for me how an iris will perform! No matter, it has bloomed beautifully, and although I'm not a photography buff, it looks just as good in the garden as it does in the catalog. (Just take a look at the pedigree below!!)
The following is from the AIS Check List: "(Schreiner, R. 1999). Sdlg. CC 758-B. TB 36" (91 cm) ML. "S. crystalline white (RHS 155D), midrib golden yellow; F. light creamy yellow (10A) to white, yellow shoulders, 2" rosy magenta (71B) marginal band; beards golden yellow. AA 1324-G: (Gypsy Woman x N 502-FF: (I 335-5: ((C 973-A: (Lilac Champagne x (Toll Gate x After Dark)) x ((Alpenrose x Whole Cloth) x Cashmere)) x (C 973-A x (((Broadway Star x Giant Rose) x ((Maytime x Opal Beauty) x Whole Cloth)) x Wine and Roses))) x H 238-A: ((Champagne Music x (R 1052-2 x Christmas Time)) x (Orchid Brocade x (Annabel Lee sib x Emma Cook))))) X AA 1374-A: ((Sailmaster x ((Mysterious x (Matinata x ((Agatine x Tompkins 50-82) x Edenite))) x (Shoreline sib x Brook Flower))) x Ragtime)., Schreiner 1999."

This is the first picture I had ever taken of Starship Enterprise. As noted in my initial comments above, I'm not a photography pro, however it looks as good to me as what I see in the catalogs.

This next shot was taken very early in the morning with slanting bright sunlight.

In this picture I'm standing exactly opposite the position in the previous photo, and slightly closer to the flower.
