I am amazed this little feathered friend chose the wren box at the corner of the garage for its nesting site. I'm more surprised since this is a high traffic area within six feet of an overhead garage door where a vehicle is continually entering or exiting. This is also an area where power tools, including a loud air compressor are in use often. It makes me feel good to know this little friend feels at home here in this busy spot, and I have never known a Black Capped Chickadee to nest this close to human habitats. Since childhood I have admired these little feathered friends, and I encourage them to stay as long as they like.

This picture shows my new tenant inspecting an old decrepit wren house at the edge of the pavement within six feet of an overhead garage door. I had noticed the wren house was in need of replacement due to the mosses and lichens growing on the roof. But it seems to suit this tiny friend just fine since he and his mate have occupied it for over a week now.

Both this, and the photo above, were taken from inside the garage door with the digital zoom lens. I was in disbelief that a Chickadee had moved in, but continuous observations and these pictures prove it has happened. In all my years of attracting birds with nesting boxes, this is a "first"! This picture shows the male standing guard at his front door. He seems to know I have a camera inside the garage, and does not seem to mind my intrusion.
