Initial Notes:

Propagation by seed: Sow at 64 to 71 F for 2 to 4 weeks, move to 29 to 39 F for 4 to 6 weeks, move to 41 to 53 F for germination.

Other propagation methods: division in late winter when dormant.

Care: Shade. Hardy in zones 3 to 9. Likes semi shade with humus-rich moist but well-drained soil.

Description: Height: 12 inches. Blooms May until frost. Lacy-looking foliage that look like fern fronds. Pink heart shaped flowers on arching stems. White inner petals of flowers extend from outer petals giving the appearance of a bleeding heart. Short lived in mild climates. Foliage dies back by midsummer.
