Closed or Bottle Gentian (Gentiana clausa) growing along the edge of the waterway. Gorgeous, and not common, color. Started as a "volunteer",left by a passing bird I assume.

Jack-in-the-pulpit (Arisaema sp), while not a water plant, is found in moist woodlands and along streams and ponds. An early harbinger of spring and a delight to the eyes.

I really enjoyed seeing this fountain which is found in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It depicts various important events in the city's history and was an easy walk from where the cruise ship docked.

We passed the university in Seattle, Washington and noticed this beautiful water feature on the campus. The contrast in colors between the light-colored grass, dark trees, white and yellow flowers, brick buildings and sprays of water added to the beauty.

When we installed this fountain we merely thought it would look nice. But it has served as a major water source for all the birds and wildlife in the area. Now we love it even more.
