Click for fullsize picture. Little bulb-eating rascal! Poor little toad had a hard time finding moisturizer this past summer. But she managed. I normally don't mind getting right down at bees, insects...etc. Spiders are a different story, I used the zoom to get this. Baby bunny's first day away from the nest. His mother raised him and two siblings in one of our flowerbeds. A doe and two fawns in a grassy area near a woods in Bartonville, Illinois. A lot of fawns were born in our neck of the woods this past Spring. This is just one of them. A red squirrel at our birdfeeder during a winter storm I was lucky to have seen this baby so close up as she and her twin were born in my neighbors overgrown thickets. One of my squirrely friends. I watched a Mama squirrel and baby squirrel communicate this way again and again as mama was trying to teach the baby how to do something. If baby failed, it would lay her paws on mama for awhile, then attempt again. Tree frog resting on a rose leaf This coyote almost walked up in my lap while I was making photos of Osprey.This occurred in the Land Between the Lakes,in Western Kentucky. I had a family of 6 Red Foxes to stay around in my back yard this summer-awesome experience to watch and photograph them every day for over two months.This is one of them.I was able to get fairly close to them quite often for photos. I was trimming a vine on the outside of my fence and when I turned around to start cleaning up the branches I found this young fawn sleeping among them. A patch of snow on Casper Mountains, Wyoming in May. The Huge Bison of Yellowstone look so domestic, Instead, they are a unpredictable wild animal. This one was walking near the hot Springs in Yellowstone park. This young deer was grazing beside the pasture fence, It had made its way to the opposite side of the fence from where its Mother was grazing, Shots in the valley startled the baby and it bounded around the pasture until it jumped between the boards of the fence and joined its anxious Mom. I put it in a small container with a little water & it came back to life. It posed for me when I let it go free on a small Magnolia tree in my back yard... I keep a hanging bird feeder in the tree outside my kitchen window. This squirrel is a frequent visitor. He loves the peanuts I fill it with. Peek a boo I see you ! This little fella was hanging out on my Angel Trumpet plant and he stayed there as if he was a movie star posing for pictures. The ball he is facing is the seed pod of the trumpet plant. Backyard visitor Our cat was "playing" with this little baby bunny in our yard. Luckily, it was not injured. On the advice of a volunteer from our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, we released it into an open field with tall grasses and small shrubbery that would afford it food and protection. Dolphin cresting to say hello! I spotted this guy while strolling around in Cancun, Mexico I love turtles and could not help but snap a few pics of this beautiful Eastern box turtle. I was laying on my stomach in moist leaves deep in the woods of east TX for nearly an hour just to capture this pic. Proof that even nature smiles when surrounded by flowers! It decided on it's own to sun itself around the obelisk sundial. The campus where I work has lots of wildlife roaming around. You can always find a squirrel hanging around dumpsters looking for leftovers of someone's lunch! The Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, NY has a yearly White Deer Tour. Sometime you can spot them as you are driving by which is how I got this shot. Squirrel, up a tree ... Love one another....
