This little hummer was trying to fledge the nest....I found the nest and watched the mother lay the eggs..their hatching and finally them fleding the nest...was an awesome experience.

These Blue birds come back every summer. The little sputcies fight to get there nest, but the Blue birds always win. They had 2 babys this year. Buitiful birds of Ohio.

Was working in the garden one morning and heard the most awful racket. Two jays were divebombing my pekingese, so I went to investigate. Found a pair of babies in a weigelia bush, and ran to get the camera!

I make bi-yearly trips through the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge trying to capture whatever catches my eye. It's always fun to see the new families walking about, or in this case, swimming about.
This was taking during one of my trip through the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. Red-winged Blackbirds are always a welcome sight.

When our agaves burst into bloom, this hummingbird became our best friend. He's just getting ready to fly off to sip more agave nectar after a short rest on the agave leaf.

Itís a joy to see goldfinch in the Bottlebrush Tree (Callistemon rigidusand) and to photograph them. They perch on the branches for much longer periods of time than most other species. They are my sunshine on cloudy days.
My Bottlebrush Tree, Callistemon rigidus, is a magnet for hummingbirds. They love this showy tree with masses of scarlet bottle-brush shaped flowers throughout warm season.
