Crispy Dills

  Ingredients  
Boil together:

1 gal. water
1 qt. cider vinegar
1 1/4 c. salt (not iodized)

Pack clean small cucumbers in 6 qt. jars , peircing with a fork. In each jar place:

1 clove garlic
1 hot pepper
2 tsp. powdered alum

  Instructions  
Pour boiling mixture over cucumbers and seal at once using canning lids. Let set at least 6 weeks before using.
