1/2 cup butter or marjarine
1 (6oz) plg. semi-sweet chocolate chipes
1 (13oz) can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar; sifted
1 tsp. vanilla or almond or mint flavoring
In top of double boiler;combine butter and chocolate chips.
Bring water to boil.
Reduce heat to low and cook until chocolate melts; stirring constantly.
Add evaporated milk and powdered sugar to chocolate; stirring constantly,until sauce is smooth and thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in flavoring.
Serve sauce warm or cold over ice cream.
Makes 2 3/4 cup.
At times I will spread a tablespoon of sauce on a plate;add a nice brownie; top with scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle chocolate sauce on top and garnish with mint leaf and a whole strawberry.
