2 lbs. hamburger
2 c. elbow macaroni
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1 can tomato soup
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can evaporated milk or 1 pint cream
1 t. each of salt, pepper, butter and chicken soup base
1) Brown hamburger, onions, and celery
2) Cook Macaroni
3) Drain grease from hamburger mixture and add to cooked macaroni (don't drain water)
4) Add the remaining ingredients and heat through. Add more salt and pepper to suit your taste.
Don't bring to a boil, just heat through.
I have also added some dill weed on occasion and it adds a nice change to the flavor.
This is a recipe that a local restaurant makes. They always call the local businesses on Tomato Mac day, and we all flock in there for it. It is so yummy!
