Dave's Garden Cookbook: "Easy -as- Pie Cherry Cobbler"

1 C. SUGAR
1 C. Self Rising FLOUR
1 C. MILK
1 can Cherry pie filling( or any pie filling)
1/2 stick MARGERINE (or butter)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350. Melt margerine in a 9 X 9 glass baking dish.
Mix sugar and flour together well. Add milk a little at a time, stirring to keep batter smooth. (batter will be pretty thin). Pour into pan and swirl the margerine and batter together to mix lightly. Spoon fruit filling in big drollops in various place in the batter. Bake about 30-35 minute, until top is golden brown. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
Extra Notes
If you make this just before you start dinner it will be just cool enough to serve for dessert!
The recipe was given to me as a new bride by my Husbands Aunt Anne, who ran a Dairy Farm in WV. She always served this the day the Milk Inspector came to do his inspection....seems he always hit her place for LUNCH, and she didn't have time to do elaborate desserts!
