6 green tomatoes chopped
6 tart apples, peeled, cored & chopped
¼ lb seedless raisins
¼ lb seedless sultanas (white raisins)
½ cup minced citron
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
2 Tablespoons orange rind
¼ cup fruit juice (I used the juice of the orange after I had removed the rind)
¼ cup cider vinegar
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon ground allspice
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions
Force the tomatoes & cored apples through a food chopper (Used my Cuisineart). Place in a large saucepan. Add remaining ingredients & cook on low, until thick (Half to 1 hour). Fill sterilized jars & seal. Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes. Makes about 1 quart.
