I had never seen anything like this insect before and when I found it on my front porch it really startled me! I called this Mantis "Ugly Bug" until someone here on DG identified it as a Grizzled Mantid. Doing a google search, I read that it's a species of praying mantis and native to the Southern U.S.

I don't know if it's a good bug or bad bug so I just let it be.
