The Whirlabout is similar to the Fiery. Notable difference is the underside hindwing spots are larger and fewer than those on the more common Fiery. Male above has very prominent black stigma. Mostly located in the Southeastern region, common to Florida and south Texas.

Maintains a jet-plane position when basking. Size is small, with forewing costa average lenght 5/8".

A challenge to photograph.
