Typical earwig damage on clematis bud. He'll come back and finish the job tonight :(
Taken on 15th July 2008, Lincoln UK. The male has stronger, curved pincers. In summer they tend to shelter high off the ground, this was resting amongst Camellia leaves.
I have to say I like this cute little guy!
I'm sure he was looking at me and pleading for mercy, I now have a new perspective on these beneficial bugs!
