Taken on 23rd October 2008, Lincoln UK. Common in gardens, occasionally inside, in Britain. Living in leaf litter they feed on green algae on trees and plant litter.
From above, they are up to 30mm long and approx 10 times as long as they are wide.
It appears to be missing an antennae, it wouldn't 'stand x 100' still as I tried to take pics of it's head!
Taken on 22nd December 2008. I found it crawling out of a pot after filling one with newly mixed compost, made from my leafy compost. It measured 30mm long, about the maximum.
