Image 1. I beleive this is a different variety of webspinner. Same size, shape, lifecycle, and can reduce lucious plants into bare stems.
They are are not pickey eaters, almost every type of plant. They numbred in the thousands, had compleatly covered the ground in spots.
the picture provided might not b clear hence u might not see the clear black color as well as the stripped black and white antennae... although please crosscheck the picture as im not 100% sure.
Only male webspinners have wings. The "popeye" looking front legs contain structures that produce silk. They eat leaf litter.
