Viewing Families in the Order "Tinamiformes" (Highland Tinamou)

Birds of the order Tinamiformes are primarily located in the neotropics, especially rainforests and scrubby woodlands, with a few species in arid grasslands or steppes. There are 47 species in the order Tinamiformes. Characteristics of tinamiformes include a chicken-like appearance, with rounded body and relatively small head, and light brown to dark gray plumage. Unlike chickens, however, they are quite capable of flight.
