Taken on 11th December 2007. It had been feeding on the ground with other birds in a field near my home, near Lincoln UK. Oak trees provide acorns, part of their main diet.
On 22nd November 2007. This Jay was having a feather preen in an Oak tree near my home. They are usually shy birds, and can sometimes be seen gliding between trees.
The rump is white and distinctive.
