On 30th March 2008. Two males in a mock territorial battle on top of my roof.
On 9th March 2008, a male waiting patiently for his cat food!
On 17th April, the male getting worms for his young.
I had watched him on my garden looking for more worms. He then picked up his multiple catches and posed on the fence for me, looking very proud, before going to the nest.
The female had taken a well earned break for a bath and preen. She was too close as I tried to take pics, taking no notice of me at all!
On 4th May 2008, the female gathering dead plant material for her second nest! They had a very good year, I think I saw 5 lots of young. The male feeds the last lot while she prepares for the next.
On 10th July, after having shoved his head down babies throats countless times, the nearly bald male relishes a rare warm, sunny day.
On 20th July. Father says after so many mouths to feed the novelty wears off, but he continues to do his duty! Thanks to the ease of readily available cat food.
Somehow, cat food sticks in the beak.
On 21st July, baby Blackbird wonders what this warm stuff is, but thinks it's darned good! Dad was nearby wallowing in warmth, and the photographer was pleased for small sunny mercies.
