Here is a closeup of the hand carving done on the west side of the arch. There is a bit of an ongoing theme of rolling lizards that can also be seen on the fence in some of the following pictures. This arch was constructed of laminated scrap 2 by 6 lumber left over from one of our fence projects on the horse ranch portion of our property. The turquoise chips that make the scales of the lizards represents each year my wife Pamela and I have been together. I\'ll be adding a fourth as we\'ve just celebrated that little milestone. The eyes of the lizards are polished raw emeralds. The dark wood veneer is from the native Ironwood Olnyea testudo.
