I have this plant in Zone 8b North Florida area. I tested this plant in the ground this past year and it survived. The coldest temp I experienced was 16 degrees for one night about 2 hours. The plant did die back, but I had heavily mulched with pine needles and leaves and I had cut and covered the plant with a plastic pot lined with newspaper. It has come back. I also find this plant very easy
