Pelargoniums

The term Pelargoninum refers to a genus of flowering plants that includes perennials, succulents, and yes, geraniums. It's the latter that people normally call pelargoniums, often mixing up the terms. Pelargoinums like warm, sunny climates, and can tolerate drought for short periods of time. The annual bedding plant we normally call geraniums are technically pelargoniums.
