In cold months, this handsome shrub has the added attraction of coppery exfoliating bark; can be grown as a perennial in climates colder than Zone 5.

In midsummer, it provides golden flowers to the shade garden; hence its name.

Provide bright dappled shade or a half-day of full sun for best results.
