The 'chisoensis' variety has stems that are not constricted annually. The flowers are 2.5 inches long with the inner perianth parts being deep red.
The 'fobeanus' variety often has annually constricted stems. The flowers can get up to 3.7 inches long with the base of the inner perianth part being light green or tan.
